Our November Weekend Workshop line up is sure to impress the craft and painting enthusiasts among us:

Saturday 5  November – Random Weave with Zimmi Forest

Join Zimmi Forest to create a gorgeous random weave basket or sculpture made from natural fibres. Zimmi will walk you through the steps of random weave basketry techniques in a relaxing and enjoyable workshop. With over 25 years of basketry teaching, Zimmi shares her comprehensive knowledge, various tricks and tips to make this as simple as possible. You’re unique and beautiful piece of art work is sure to be a keepsake in your home.

Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 November – Colour Mixing and Composition with Deborah Marks

Come and enjoy a weekend workshop exploring colour relationships and our visual reactions to them. Through a systematic study of colour relationships, you will see the reactions different colours have when placed next to each other, as well as feeling colour relatedness. We will explore the dimensions of colour – hue, value, intensity and temperature.

This is a practical and structured workshop where students are guided through in-depth colour mixing exercises. These include mixing, primary, secondary and tertiary colours, painted within a grid pattern. This workshop gives you the opportunity to focus, structure and make sense of this broad subject. It is suitable for beginners and those who would like to understand colour and its relationships more fully.
