Inspired by a recent excursion along a local waterway, my artwork tackles the pressing issue of litter within our community. It reveals a troubling assortment of plastic debris that mars our natural landscapes. Using fluorescent pigments and acrylic paints, I highlight the stark contrast between the natural world and the intrusive plastic debris. This piece draws the viewer’s attention to the harsh, unnatural colors of synthetic waste juxtaposed against the creek’s subtle, natural tones, underlining the dire environmental impact.
Through this work, I would like to inspire the community to restore the integrity of our natural spaces, highlighting our shared responsibility in rejuvenating the health of our environments.
