Stemming from my photographs, this image combines elements of nature and computation. I took a series of shots on a recent flight from Melbourne: sky, cloud formations, wing of the plane, arid land, ocean, etc.
My work explores the tension between the natural and mechanical world— between organic and inorganic, digital and analogue. Spiky forms explore textured shapes, a limited ‘icy’ colour scheme; balance seems to freeze movement.
In Photoshop, investigating layering, distortions and extrusions – just to name a few – afford unlimited possibilities. I find these creative processes and the use of a variety of media most rewarding and inspiring.
