Most recently in my practice, I have been utilising collage, appropriating images found in magazines and books to create unsettling and elegant juxtapositions. ‘Construction’, a photogravure print made from a digital collage, is the result of my ongoing investigations into marrying seemingly heterogeneous subject matter to create new and ambiguous readings. This piece sees me pairing an image of an 80’s hair model with an image of a Levi Bruni sculpture. The resultant assemblage inhabits an uncanny space and a narrative emerges that is divergent from the intention of the source material.
