The two renderings of the bushy needlewood branch were a test. One of the branches was drawn from life, and the other from a photograph. From this test I was attempting to deduce whether the viewer could tell if the still life was drawn from a photograph or from life. I also wanted to know which result looked the best, and which method was the most conducive to creativity. Can you guess which bushy needlewood branch still life is drawn from a photo, and from life? Which rendering looks better? I have formed my opinion, now it’s your turn.
