We acknowledge the Bidjigal and Gadigal people as the traditional custodians of the land on which Waverley Woollahra Art School (WWAS) stands and that sovereignty was never ceded.  We recognise their continuing connections to Country and culture and pay our respect to Elders, past, present and emerging.

Celebrated for its art program and nurturing environment, WWAS is a not-for-profit art school offering courses by practising artists. Students range from beginners to prize-winning artists and together this welcoming community continues to inspire and build lifelong learning in the arts.

Important Information:

Changes to Class Fees in April 2025

It’s fantastic to see our school alive with creativity, just as it has been since 1968.  Thank you for your passion for learning, creating and supporting the arts.  As a not for profit cooperative, our school is always trying to balance affordable accessible art education with a financially sound future.  We receive no funding from councils or government.

Unfortunately increased operating costs and cost of living pressures have placed increased financial pressure on WWAS.  From autumn 2025 we need to increase our fees to continue to support the operations of WWAS and provide high quality programs.  A modest 10% increase will come into effect in April 2025.

This decision has not been made lightly, however it is our financial responsibility to do so.  As a not-for-profit, member-run cooperative, every dollar we receive goes directly into running WWAS, paying our dedicated teachers and office team, maintaining our facilities and keeping our programs accessible.  We rely on volunteers, class fees, art prizes, art sale commissions and private donations to sustain WWAS.

We remain committed to keeping WWAS an affordable, welcoming place for artists of all levels.  Your support helps us continue to offer inspiring classes, workshops, and opportunities for creative growth.

Thank you for being part of this incredible community.  We look forward to seeing you in Term 2 and beyond!

Chair, WWAS
