This year’s Waverley Art Prize Judges are Peter Sharp (Artist) and Katrina Cashman (Curator and Gallery Manager, National Art School).
Katrina Cashman is an Australian curator with over 25 years of experience in leadership and arts management roles in the galleries and museums sector in Australia and internationally. Katrina has comprehensive experience in Australian contemporary art, curating over 45 major group exhibitions, thematic exhibitions and solo survey exhibitions. In her role as Gallery Manager and Senior Curator at the National Art School, Katrina leads the NAS Galleries team to produce NAS’s dynamic program of exhibitions, arts projects and related cultural activities.
Peter Sharp is a Sydney based artist whose work has been shown in group and solo exhibitions since 1987 throughout Australia and internationally. His work has consistently been about the visual exploration and understanding of how nature works and fits together through the lens of abstraction. Peter is represented by Liverpool Street Gallery in Sydney and Nicholas Thompson Gallery in Melbourne and his work is held in many significant public and private collections in Australia and overseas. Peter is also a senior lecturer at the UNSW, School of Art and Design.
