Abstract & Conceptual Painting – NEW DATE TBC

**Email your name and contact number to info@wwas.org.au to join our waitlist for this workshop to be notified when it is re-scheduled**

Have some fun and stretch your imagination creating abstract works. This workshop is designed to develop your understanding of conceptual and abstract art making. Arushi will provide starting points to the students, such as a piece of music or elements from an existing painting, and students will be guided through the process of creating a finished work on canvas, using acrylic paint. Arushi will explain and demonstrate a variety of approaches to abstraction from the past through to contemporary examples, and will help you with the painting techniques necessary to realise your ideas.

Abstract and conceptual art are broad fields with a range of possibilities. Trying them out can open up one’s art practice to whole new dimensions, help us say what we want to say through our work, and put us more in touch with ourselves.

Great for beginners to painting, and also for those with more experience wanting to expand their horizons and potential.

After this workshop, students will take back one major finished work on canvas, and some smaller works on paper.

Materials provided: Acrylic paints, one canvas (20×30 inches), brushes, palette knives, A2 size brown paper, gesso.

Price: $150

This workshop runs from 19 April to 1 September, from 10:00am to 4:00pm daily.
