Lia Klugman is a Brazilian born ceramic artist who spent many years in Africa before immigrating to Australia. Her style lends from both South American and African influences while portraying distinct Australian tones.
Lia has studied under many renowned international ceramic masters together with prestigious Australian ceramic teachers at the National Art School. She completed her graduate Diploma in Ceramics at the Brookvale Tafe. Lia’s work has been exhibited at Kerry Lowe Gallery, Frances Keevil, Mission Gallery, Perl Contemporary Art, Studio 10, Arthop, and Bondi Pavilion. Her most recent work has been exploring Raku, Naked Raku and Saggar techniques.
For over 20 years, Lia has been sharing her knowledge and love for clay by teaching Ceramics classes at Waverley Woollahra Art School where she has been for many years. Lia has a passion for teaching and loves to inspire her students to enable their creative selves.
