The vast open spaces one passes through in desert landscapes creates visual fantasies that forever change and multiply in the near distance as if the traveller is approaching a mystical city and its forever changing perceptions.

In my work I aim to create an emotive response to time and space in an abstraction of the landscape. Or as Mallarme, the French Symbolist poet and critic once said “Paint, not the thing but the effect which it produces.”
