Land Escape depicts a landscape scene with a non-descript sculptural subject that sits both centre stage while fusing with its backdrop. The phantastic scene is a staged one, emphasising the theatrics of picture making while reflecting on the role that genres play within the medium. Recognisable qualities of the landscape are almost exotic, the individual elements unrelated yet when together form a heightened atmospheric image that becomes cinematic.
