There is something marvellous and uplifting about team sport in urban spaces. Basketball is a highly aggressive sport but the court located at the heart of Prince Alfred Park emits a feeling of comradeship, safety and accessibility for all.

The line markings envelop the entire human form. They provide order and precision, something that is not only experienced on court but also by those passing by. It is interesting that the constructs of sport can seep into our everyday inner-city lives.
