GSR G01 is a painting created in August 2025, the last finished in of a series of paintings that formed a solo exhibition at 8 Wall gallery in Paddington in Sept/Oct 2025

Since 2015 Ash Keating has consistently developed an ongoing studio painting series titled ‘Gravity System Response’.

‘Gravity System Response’ (GSR) is an ongoing exploration of reductive painting comprising synthetic polymer paints, pigments and water.

The outcomes of this exploration are not only the effects of running, dripping and merging of paint by gravitational force, or the replication of natural systems found in the environment, but a relentless pursuit of unique compositions amongst a very long lineage of historic gravity/drip focussed painters.

Naarm / Melbourne-born visual artist Ash Keating has exhibited extensively in galleries and created numerous large-scale, site-responsive art projects in Australia and internationally since 2004.
