Contemporary Watercolour with Yaeli Ohana
Students of all levels, including beginners are welcome. We will explore traditional, contemporary and more experimental approaches to watercolour painting, drawing and mixed media. Many artists fear using watercolours with the belief that you cannot hide mistakes. However, watercolour can also be about embracing ‘chance marks’ and working in an intuitive and spontaneous spirit. Yaeli will show examples of artists’ works as inspiration, guide beginners with clear instructions and demonstrations, and offer critiques and challenges for more experienced watercolourists. Students are encouraged to develop their own style, be it traditional, semi-abstract, abstract or contemporary.
By the end of this course, you will be more confident in handling watercolours, producing engaging images, and have a deeper understanding of and appreciation for watercolour and mixed media.
THESE CLASSES WILL BE RUN SIMULTANEOUSLY ON ZOOM AND IN-STUDIO. Students who prefer to work from home will receive equal attention and be able to participate in all class activities including viewing practical demonstrations of techniques.
