Contemporary Mixed Media with Mary van den Berk

rsz_term3_mary

Contemporary mixed media encourages moving beyond the concept of simply applying paint to canvas to try new things, explore new combinations, and experiment with new techniques.
Contemporary mixed media techniques will be explored, including the use of physical and digital media, and alongside more traditional painting and drawing.

In a studio workshop setting and with the guidance of an experienced practicing artist, students will be invited to work with any combination of media that inspires them, including: acrylic and watercolour painting, drawing, pastels, layering, collaging, texturizing, sgraffito, mono and digital printing, rubbing, weaving and stitching.

A broad range of subject matter including still life, landscape, interior, figure and portraiture will be explored, with ample opportunity for participants to work on their own projects and interests.
While all levels are welcome, some prior painting and drawing experience is helpful.

Thursdays, 1.30pm to 4.30pm
