Painting the Figure, with Joshua McPherson, starts Wednesday April 5th at 6.30pm

This runs from 5 April to 21 June, from 6.30pm to 9.00pm daily.

In this class of eight sessions, Joshua will introduce you to the art of painting the figure in the studio. Staring with a drawing then progressing to the application of paint, you will be taught the nuances and colour of skin tones as well as proportion and anatomy. The beginning lessons will involve the students practicing painting the subject in transparent oil paint (burnt umber). In the following lessons, students will move onto painting in a grisaille method (mono chrome palette using raw umber, black and white). As the lessons progress students will begin to add a limited set of colours to their palette for their daily paintings, finishing with a full artist’s palette.

The course is designed for all levels from beginners to more experienced painters who want to build up more confidence with oil painting.

Please register your interest this week as numbers are limited. This short course will run for 8 sessions from 4th April. Fee including model $395.

Ring the office on 9387 2461 or email at   info@wwas.org.au.
